Ingredients

  • 8 chicken thighs or breasts
  • 1 lemon ,juice only
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 4 cloves garlic ,minced
  • 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese ,grated
  • 1 teaspoon thyme
  • 1/4 cup chicken stock (optional, for sauce consistency)

Instructions

  • Prepare the chicken by cutting breasts in half if using large pieces. Season with salt and pepper.
  • In a shallow bowl, mix flour, salt, and pepper. Coat the chicken evenly.
  • Heat butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Sear the chicken until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes on each side. Remove and set aside.
  • In the same skillet, add garlic and sauté until fragrant. Deglaze the pan with lemon juice and chicken stock, scraping the bottom to release browned bits.
  • Stir in thyme and Parmesan cheese. Adjust seasoning as needed.
  • Return the chicken to the skillet and simmer in the sauce for 15-20 minutes, ensuring it is cooked through.
  • Garnish with fresh parsley and serve warm with your choice of sides.

Notes

  • Use fresh lemons for the best flavor.
  • You can add heavy cream for a creamy variation of the sauce.
  • This dish pairs wonderfully with steamed vegetables, mashed potatoes, or quinoa.
