Ingredients

  • 8 oz cream cheese
  • 4 oz salted butter (if using unsalted, add ¼ tsp salt)
  • 2 tsp bourbon vanilla extract
  • 2 tbsp heavy whipping cream
  • 3 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 ¼ tsp cinnamon (adjust to your liking)

Instructions

  • Soften the cream cheese and butter to room temperature or microwave for 10-20 seconds.
  • Mix the cream cheese and butter until smooth.
  • Add the vanilla extract, heavy whipping cream, and powdered sugar.
  • Beat the mixture on a low setting and gradually increase the speed until smooth and creamy.
  • Adjust cinnamon to taste and mix until fully combined.

Notes

  • Use room temperature ingredients for a smooth texture.
  • Don’t overmix, as it can make the frosting runny.
  • The frosting can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to two weeks or frozen for up to three months.
  • For a twist, you can add nuts like walnuts or pecans or experiment with other flavors like cocoa powder, nutmeg, or citrus zest.
