Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 8 cups cabbage, chopped
  • 1 cup uncooked rice
  • 6 cups beef broth (or chicken broth)
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon granulated garlic
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon light brown sugar
  • ½ teaspoon kosher salt

Instructions
 

  • Brown the ground beef in a pot.
  • Add the chopped onion and minced garlic, and sauté until softened.
  • Add the chopped cabbage, rice, and beef broth. Stir well.
  • Bring the soup to a simmer and cook for 20-25 minutes, until the cabbage is tender.
  • Season with chili powder, granulated garlic, black pepper, brown sugar, and kosher salt.
  • Taste and adjust the seasoning as needed.
  • Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 5 days, or freeze for up to 3 months. To reheat, warm gently over low heat, adding water if the soup is too thick.
